Two Years To Go

Wow, what a milestone... Only 24 months until we will be living on our own boat! Whilst we have a lot to do between now and then, it still all feels under control. We have narrowed our boat selection down to one vendor if all goes well.

Financially it feels hard to draw conclusions on where we stand with the nature of spending and earning (and one of us working with a commission/sales based upside). It feels like we are trending well but it would be a big stretch to get to the Fountaine Pajot Helia 44. As always, we have felt it wise to stretch for the best you can afford rather than lower your goals initially (the old “shoot for the moon” mentality!).

However, we still have a lot to get through; sailing training, more people to tell, work, international planning, and the doubling of our child count!

Life is extremely enjoyable and we are having a super time in Singapore, with so much on offer to travel to nearby. We will miss living here. Knowing that the plethora of countries to visit and opportunities surrounding us is close to infinite, we have an eye on the clock - the practicalities of time off and financial commitments are constantly within our thoughts.

On top of that work, just presented an extremely unexpected yet exciting shift. My boss has decided to move on and the business HQ has asked me to lead the region. The responsibility shift on paper is enormous and presents me with a rather daunting challenge. However, the incredible chance to learn and grow a business that I have been completely dedicated to over the past three years really is a once-in-a-career chance. And it will also really help us to reach our financial goals for casting off into the sunset. So, onwards and upwards!
