SAILING VESSEL: LONG SUMMER

Long Summer is an Astréa 42 from Fountaine Pajot. Our home of choice is a sailing catamaran with twin engines, a Rainman watermaker, substantial solar fitout, Garmin electronics, and a Highfield dinghy, amongst other features.

The Astréa 42 demonstrates the boatyard’s commitment to innovation whilst preserving the classic identity of the Fountaine Pajot sailing catamarans’ range. It combines smart design and space with stability at anchor, to ensure we have a comfortable existence whilst travelling with our young family. The Astréa 42 was designed to allow plenty of natural light into the living areas, along with free-flowing movement around the cockpit and cabins, and a generous U-shaped galley for cooking up a storm! The name Long Summer came from the desire for a long and winding adventure; one that is seemingly never ending, enjoyable and sunny. Just like those halcyon days we enjoyed as kids. We hope for many it helps evoke a feeling of when time didn’t seem to matter, when life felt continual; the innocence and invincibility of childhood. A playful and simple existence when things weren’t rushed and stress was a long way away. Whimsical and idealistic it might be, but why not!
