Marmaris to Didim

After spending a bit of time down south, we hightailed it back up to Didim from Marmaris, in order to meet up with a few friends who were in town.

Going against the prevailing winds we motored back up the coast in just a couple of hops, stopping in on the way at Palamutbuku for an overnight rest, and at Akyarlar for a few days to celebrate Frankie’s 5th birthday. We also ran into our new friends s/v Wild Odyssey and s/v OdesseaX in Akyarlar, and enjoyed an evening of drinks and laughs as it blew 40kts outside of the bay.

Back in Didim we were also reunited with our friends m/v Gratitude and s/v Mimpi, whom we hadn’t seen since cruising together in Croatia last summer. It was so wonderful to see everyone again and catch up over pool-side chats, dinners out and trips to the markets!

And since we were back in our summer base for a week, we took the opportunity to get a few boat jobs done; fitting some hanging rails in the front starboard locker, and finally adding a passerelle mount on the port aft steps after resisting drilling a hole in the boat for the past three years! We also caught up on a bit of boat school with the kids, and gave Long Summer a good wash ready for our next guest to arrive...
