Last Day Of Work

The day has come for me to be unemployed! It’s been quite a strange feeling leading up to the last day of work. The thought of this day has completely dominated my brain (whether at work or otherwise).

Finishing up at work on a Friday allowed for a casual lunch with all the team. And in the evening, a good pub catchup with work colleagues, their partners, and industry friends. With some money behind the bar we had a super evening saying goodbye. After working with such a lovely group of people for over five years, I will miss seeing them every day. I’ve had some amazing opportunities and experiences with this company, and learnt an awful lot, so I will remember my time here fondly.

And as a little bonus, my team had also bought me a very thoughtful and useful leaving gift: an inflatable kayak! Sure to get great use on the boat and gives us another mode of transport for exploring. :)

Next step:: go self-employed! It will be a big change, but I’m really looking forward to the flexibility it will bring, as well as trying my own thing for a while.

And now all that’s left to do in Singapore is sell everything we own, start my own business, say our goodbyes and move out of our home to the other side of the world.. Not much, right?!
