Hội An

One of the countries we have been keen to revisit whilst living in South East Asia is Vietnam. We originally visited this beautiful country back in 2009 with some very close friends from Sydney, and had an amazing time. It’s an incredible country full of completely different experiences - relaxed beaches, hectic cities, cultural diversity, and most importantly, historical significance.

For this trip we met my sister and her family in Hoi An. We hired a stunning AirBnB that was connected to a hotel, which was incredibly convenient. With lots of space for the kids to play and huge rooms, it was just a 15-20min ride from Hoi An Old Town. We enjoyed visiting the local sights, touring the fresh food markets, and a cooking class for all the family. With plenty of beach time and some stunning evenings in the garden, it was the perfect Christmas break. (Lots of board games, wine and chocolate also helped!)

It was so enjoyable to revisit this beautiful country and see it through the eyes of our children this time. And with yet another international trip under the belt for these kids, there is no chance of travel fatigue or resistance setting in! And of course it’s always good to spend time with close family. We all get on so well and it makes for easy travelling. So long, Vietnam!
