Sail Training: Day 3.5
After opting for some extra training (on top of the standard three days’ handover), we tackled the last session head-on. It was time for more docking drills in the marina and sailing exercises in the bay… But this time our trainer stepped it up a notch. Boy, there is a lot that we don’t know!
The wind was trickier today, and the manoeuvres in the marina seemed more difficult. The fatigue of the past week had finally caught up with us and the pressure to get everything right became too much. We’re hard on ourselves because our family’s safety is riding on us knowing this boat and how to sail her inside out. We ended the session feeling low and defeated.
It was time for a break, and to let all of the new information from the past few days settle in. Thank goodness we have some friends and family in town to help take our minds off everything and provide a little bit of compassion and decompression!
