Krk

The stone city walls of Krk Old Town have stood the test of time for over 2,000 years. Inside the defensive walls picturesque cobble stone streets lead you through a maze of fortresses, churches and town squares. Small shops, galleries and ice cream parlours fill the town, and restaurants line the harbour front of this historic city.

By day we wandered the pretty laneways and spent time in the aquarium and terrarium for Frankie’s birthday. By night we enjoyed drinks on the sea wall and watched the warm summer evening come alive with buskers, archery demonstrations, and market stalls.

After visiting the island of Krk just a week ago, but not having seen the Old Town previously, it was so nice to come back and explore a bit further. We’ve found yet another hidden gem on Croatia’s never-ending coastline of captivating islands and historic ports.
