Gyalinammos Beach
Traipsing across the Gulf of Corinth in oppressive heat and not a breath of air was draining, and our adrenaline from the Corinth Canal had worn off. But as we neared our anchorage we perked up when we stumbled across multiple large groups of small striped dolphins! They were too shy to come and say hello to us, but gliding through the glossy water whilst surrounded by pods of dolphins in every direction was pretty spectacular!
That evening we pulled in at Gyalinammos Beach for the night. Exhausted from a long day of travel we gratefully dropped anchor, but struggled to sleep in the heat and swell. That night the wind picked up and swirled around the bay. At 3am it ripped our SUP from her straps and flung her into the sea. Fortunately for us it was blowing onshore and all we could do was hope she was on the beach in the morning. Thankfully she was - propped up against the only house in the vicinity come sun-up. And the residents even let us have her back!
