We Live On A Boat!

We spent the weekend doing some deep-store provisioning for the boat (two trolleys worth of canned and dried goods stashed into the floor of our galley!), and enjoying some well-deserved downtime with the Grandparents. And in the afternoon of Sunday 8 September, we officially moved onto s/v Long Summer!

We’d been unpacking our things in dribs and drabs throughout the week, but this would be the first night spent aboard. And although we were exhausted, and the realisation that we were finally living on our dream boat didn’t quite set in, it felt comfortable and it felt right.

The children were so excited to sleep in their new rooms, and in the morning were greeted by a sky of purple and pink. Unfortunately we did have to say goodbye to our very faithful suitcases, which have followed us around the world numerous times, but we can now officially call ourselves “liveaboards”.
